Let our work
speak for itself
For the simplicity we have categorised our case studies into four categories: Marketing & Promotions, Location Based Experiences, Research Analyses and Industrial & Complex Projects and Video & Media Production services. On the left side we also show how strong was our impact to the project in respect to related activities.
During our 12 years of experience in media production and 6 years actively developing VR/AR hardware & solutions, we have helped many international companies with brand awareness, communication & innovation.
AR “hologram” concert for Estonia 100 in Singapore
In January 2018 C-Studio and Criffin decided to make Estonia a rather expensive gift: Augmented Reality show that was delivered to EV100 celebration in Singapore. The goal was bringing Estonian artist to Singapore as a hologram and artist NOËP kindly joined the gift for our beloved country. Along the way also a speech by Minister of Entrepreneurship and Information Technology Urve Palo was integrated into
final solution. The delivered platform included possibility to pose with minister Palo (+take photos and share in Social media), minister’s speech and 5 songs by NOËP, one of these still not released to general public. We are also very grateful to our technology partner Arilyn for joining with the cause and providing their AR platform for easy integration and cloud streaming.
AR Solution for Tere milk campaign
In tight collaboration with Age McCann agency and Arilyn, we created an AR app for Tere! milk and Eesti Laul singing contest. The goal of the campaign was to attract more young people to drink milk. The creative work came practically entirely from Age McCann agency, C-Studio assisted with UX design and technical side. As the result (according to project’s video production director Rene Vilbre – most probably the first time in Estonian history) an AR app with alpha (transparent) video content was created.
Specially designed milk cartons could be scanned with Arilyn and each week leading up to the final, different contestants would leap from within the product and perform mini-concerts, in hologram form, for the viewer. Simple AR menu gave users the ability to simply navigate between the songs. All video production was made by ERR, very innovative was higher angle filming approach by DoP Kristjan-Jaak Nuudi. The project was considered successful with nearly 20,000 scans.
VR Stand for Evian
In late 2016 C-Studio provided full on-location VR experience solution for Jungent Group, main importer for Evian mineral water. They were the gold sponsor for Baltic Session and their interest was setting up an entertaining exhibition stand for the visitors to experience something different. For that reason C-Studio helped to choose right VR experience fitting the theme, eventually landing on Everest VR (by Solfar Studios).
Additionally, several more activities were executed, such as editing several promotional videos to be aired on screens on the stand and designing the exhibition stand made of stage construction units, including large wall-size modular LCD solution and other screens. Our staff was wearing Evian VR themed T-shirts for the occasion and taking care of the service from A to Z: the two-day presence at the event was considered a success.
360-video projection dome for the Estonian Presidency of the Council of the European Union
In the spring of 2017, the team of the Estonian Presidency set out to build a 360-video projection dome set out to be built in the atrium of the Justus Lipsius in Brussels, to celebrate the beginning of the Presidency period. The goal of the dome was to introduce Estonia as a tech-savvy country which keeps exploring new grounds in technology. The dome used four FHD projectors to show 360-videos on the inner surface of a half-dome about 6 meters in diameter. It provided a comfortable viewing experience for a dozen people and showed 360 videos from Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Greece, Slovenia, Brussels and more.
A second iteration of the dome was built in the atrium of the Committee of Regions in Brussels. Both the interior and exterior surfaces were upgraded, as well as the projection software and playlist. Air-pressure based solution provided a wrinkle-free interior and stretch fabric improved the finish of the exterior.
The dome can be used for exhibition and presentation purposes showing 4K resolution 360-videos of your choosing or we can organize the production of 360-degree videos or digitally mastered material. The dome can be set up minimally within 24h.
Development of three technologies for Hack Junction
In late 2016 Hack Junction, a SLUSH hack, contacted us for technology and mentoring at their hackathon Hack Junction in Helsinki, a few days before SLUSH conference took place. We did indeed send over two speakers/mentors and loads of hardware (different headsets, Leap Motion controllers, etc.).
But C-Studio decided to provide more than that: our talented lead developer Filipp Keks coded three base technologies as ready usable code frameworks for developers at Junction: using smartphone as a gun; using head as remote and using steps as means for locomotion.
In-depth consulting project for VR arcade gaming solution
Many aspects of this project are currently confidential and will be made public in summer 2018.
However, we can disclose this much: in early 2016 a CEO from an European game development company contacted to reflect ideas on building a specific gaming arcade oriented solution – an “overlapping VR” based defender first-person shooter where weapons, buttons, and interior elements are touchable as they’re placed to precisely the same position in Virtual Reality as in real life.
From this discussion, an in-depth consulting project was started and lasted for several months, involving constant conference calls and visits to the client location. C-Studio’s objective was hardware analyses and creative gameplay suggestions. As the result of the project, 20-page analyses was written covering anything from technical analyses to safety-related topics. As a result of this project prototypes were built, later in 2016 new spin-off was founded. New company will provide their innovative gaming solutions in the out-of-home entertainment sector.
AR dress for “Eesti Laul” contestant Janne Saar
Nearly a decade ago, n 2009 C-Studio (then Cube Productions) designed background motion graphics and what may be considered early Augmented Reality blinking (colour changing) suit for the song “I’m Too Good For You” by Janne Saar and Vahur P Valgmaa.
The dress and belt elements of back dancers were designed in neon green (similar to that used for greenscreen production – e.g. weather news) and changed colour while the song was broadcasted live from ERR soundstage in Tallinn.
