360-video projection dome for the Estonian Presidency of the Council of the European Union
In the spring of 2017, the team of the Estonian Presidency set out to build a 360-video projection dome set out to be built in the atrium of the Justus Lipsius in Brussels, to celebrate the beginning of the Presidency period. The goal of the dome was to introduce Estonia as a tech-savvy country which keeps exploring new grounds in technology. The dome used four FHD projectors to show 360-videos on the inner surface of a half-dome about 6 meters in diameter. It provided a comfortable viewing experience for a dozen people and showed 360 videos from Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Greece, Slovenia, Brussels and more.
A second iteration of the dome was built in the atrium of the Committee of Regions in Brussels. Both the interior and exterior surfaces were upgraded, as well as the projection software and playlist. Air-pressure based solution provided a wrinkle-free interior and stretch fabric improved the finish of the exterior. The dome can be used for exhibition and presentation purposes showing 4K resolution 360-videos of your choosing or we can organize the production of 360-degree videos or digitally mastered material.
The dome can be set up minimally within 24h.
